Buddy walk 2011
For the past 2 years, Rich and I have volunteered with the Down Syndrome Association of Central Florida's Buddy Walk downtown Orlando shooting candid photos for their event. It was held at Lake Eola, Saturday Oct 15th. This is probably one of the most amazing and uplifting events that we have ever done photography for. This group of special people, whether they have Down Syndrome are not, are people that will make you smile and want to have a great time. This year was one of their most successful walks. There were more than 8,000 walkers and participants and with all of the teams combined, they raised $171,000. This money that is raised goes towards the Down Syndrome Association of Central Florida's resources for education for the families and much much more. "DSACF is the leading voice for individuals with Down syndrome and their families. We offer hope, encouragement and acceptance through advocacy, education and awareness so that each may realize their potential as members of our community." I am, and I know Rich also, both share the same feeling of being thankful that we have been able to help capture these amazing children and adults in the moment of having so much fun during the Buddy Walk.
As you look through these photos, you will also know that feeling. Thank you to Amy Van Bergen and Pat Webb for thinking of us giving us this opportunity to shoot this event!
