Maitland Art Fest Pumpkin Patch Photos
This weekend, Spectacle Photo had the pleasure of sponsoring "Pumpkin Patch Photos" at the Maitland Fall Art Festival at Lake Lily. In cooperation with the Maitland Art Center, we organized a festive autumn portrait set-up comprised of hay bales, fall corn, colorful gourds, and of course - pumpkins. Most little kids in attendance (and some big kids too) happily posed in our Pumpkin Patch as we snapped away, capturing casual photos of their sweet faces. Each family will then receive a free electronic image, emailed to them in the next few weeks. What a great way to celebrate the Fall.It was a wonderful community outreach opportunity for us to collaborate with our friends at the Maitland Art Center, offering a value-added service for little ones who attended the Maitland Fall Art Festival, as well a chance to make Maitland families aware of our kid-friendly and conveniently-located studio. After all, our studio is only walking distance from both Lake Lily and The Maitland Art Center. Our presence was very well received. We had balloons, discounts on future Spectacle Studio sessions, and lots of Halloween candy to share.

Connely's Photshoot
Today I had the pleasure of shooting Connelly for her 2yr photos. She was a little shy when she first came in but after 20 min of playing games and looking into the back of my camera she realized that it was ok to let out a little smile or even a big one. Connelly is a good example of why we don't rush any one in & out. If I only had 15 min with her we wouldn't have gotten anything. Most the time I spend 20 minutes to a half an hr just talking to the subject and earning there trust. Most of my clients are not models and they don't feel like being in front of the camera. It is very important for them to feel calm, or it will show in the final image. Smiling shots are easy to capture, but capturing someone's personality is where the pros come in.

Grey Cliff on Lake Glenville

Our latest assignment had us climbing the muddy and rocky terrain of the Smoky Mountains. We where hired to go and capture the beauty and surroundings of a property in North Carolina. I have to say that I didn't know places like this where still around. The name of the development is Grey Cliff and it is literally on the side of a really big mountain. Walking up the gravel roads to the "sweet" spots you see why they picked this location. The lush landscapes give you almost teasing views of the emerald green lake below. I could only imagine the view from the second story of a log cabin built into the side of this awesome mountain. After a few days of hiking and hunting down waterfalls we headed back to the flat land of Florida to dump the pictures and share them with you.
Enjoy!
